Tecate Tortilla to-do

We had our friend George over this weekend for an impromptu fiesta. George cut and fried the tortillas  (look at that blue corn!) while I made the avacado salsa and Nick DJ'd.
I have never made so much salsa in my life... but with chips this good, I am not exaggerating when I tell you that we were practically licking the bowls out after George left. Ok maybe we were actually licking the bowls out... You'll never know!
These photos are horrible, I know, but I couldn't resist this posting because we truly had so much fun... and such good eats! There's not even really a recipe for this one: cut and fry the tortillas until crispy and sprinkle salt on them before they fully dry. Salsa is tomatoes, jalapenos, onions, cilantro, and avacados with some s&p. Happy monday. xN

  1. 1. easy tortilla cutting tip: use a pizza cutter. also good for small children and pancakes :)
    2. did you make the salsa in a food processor? i tried this for the super bowl and ended up with soup :( still tasty, but over blended. do you have tips?

  2. 1. GREAT idea! We did not do this obvi but will work this into my rotation of uses for the pizza cutter, which always does double duty as a pastry cutter, pie cutter, etc.
    2. We used about 6-7 huge tomatoes and I processed one and diced the rest. Sometimes al fresco salsas are too watery and storebought are too syruppy and this was a nice in-between. Short answer is if you are making a small batch, stick to dicing :-)
